Snow in St George

Wouldn't it be ironic if two or three days after I went to St George to escape the winter, that it wold follow me down?  Well, that happened.  Good thing it melted later that afternoon!

First Haircut

Would you believe that Claire was two and a half when she had her first haircut?  I just couldn't ever bring myself to cut that sweet little baby curl that she still had.  Well, her hair got a little scraggly, so I took her to one of the only people I trust with my tresses, my best friend Jessica. I could have died of cuteness overload while she was getting her haircut.  She was just this tiny little thing on this big salon chair.  She acted just like that was where she belonged. She is such a little princess! Here are some photos I'll cherish forever from her first haircut.

Arizona

Made an impromptu visit to Arizona while I was down south.  Here are just a few photos I took along the road.

Christmas

No worries!  It's the first day of Spring today and I am just now getting around to blogging about Christmas.  It was absolutely lovely! We had it here at home and my parents came to celebrate with us which made it even better.  Who doesn't love Christmas?

Isn't that face just priceless? My favorite photo from Christmas morning

Christmas Card

In case you didn't get yours this year, here is our 2010 Christmas Card.  Photos thanks to Sarah Knight

Claire Bowling

This kid loves to bowl! And lucky for her, her cousin had a bowling birthday party!

Love the pot belly, love the shoes, love the jeggings, love her chugging root beer from her cup.

The family brought out Grandma's old bowling ball.  She was a pool shark and a bowling champ!

Snow Canyon

Remember how I hate winter?  I think the worst of it is just after Christmas.  So lucky for me, my folks live in St George!  Claire and I escaped the drab, cold, inversion and went to St George...for like a month! It was absolutely we needed!  Brant jokes that I'm "solar powered", so the sunshine was good for my energy levels. :)  He got to come down and visit on the weekends to escape the winter too.  We got to play outside at the park almost every day.  Plus when my mom makes delicious home made meals every day, it makes it tempting to stay!  One of the most beautiful places down south is Snow Canyon state park.  It's worth every last penny of the $6 entrance fee.

Claire had fun playing in the Dunes.

I'll end with my favorite shot. Yes, you can get that much contrast in lanscape in one photo.

I'm back!!!

I don't know about you, but I shut down in the winter, altogether.  I hunker down inside, drink hot cocoa, curse the cold through my window, and try and stay warm. Although I pretty much shut down, I was still shooting.  I have a TON of personal work to show you in the days to come. For starters, here is a photo of my sweet Claire.  Isn't she beautiful?

Check back tomorrow, and the next day (and maybe the day after that) to see what I have been keeping hidden on my memory card.

This is just some of the winter that I cursed...

I'm sure if/when I leave it, I will miss it.  Truly the best part about winter is the morning after a big storm.

Sleeping Beauty

It's rare when I get a photo of her while she's sleeping. But when I do, boy oh boy do I cherish it!

Yes, her PJs are on inside out. A hobby of hers is putting her clothes on, and taking them off, and putting them back on again.
